Is Morality just a Social Convention?
I hear this argument from many atheists, both in Japan and in America. Read C.S. Lewis' response here. (Scroll down a few paragraphs to get to this question.)

Ahhh... this is why CS Lewis is one of my favourite authors.
I remember reading this chapter in Mere Christianity about 6 years ago and remember it felt like I was given a small treasure for witnessing. It has the effect of making people stop and think, and so far, no one's even attempted a rebuttal once they've heard it. Thanks for posting it.
